What and Why Naked Fries?

Let's dive into what Naked Fries is and why we started it.

What is Naked Fries?

Great question! Naked Fries are OVEN-BAKED, made with AVOCADO OIL, and are ONLY THREE-INGREDIENT frozen french fries you can buy online and, soon, in grocery stores. Beyond the physical What of Naked Fries, we are the new standard of french fries, BUT ALSO a catalyst for better habits.

So you’re probably wondering… what do you mean, a catalyst for better habits?

Imagine you go out drinking and wake up hungover - generally speaking (not from experience), you want something greasy and unhealthy. What if you DoorDashed a cheeseburger, but instead of ordering greasy restaurant fries, you made Naked Fries? From that little change, you just avoided inflammation from potential seed oils, sluggishness from greasy fries, and many, many, many calories. (Did I mention Naked Fries are only 100 calories per serving?)

With that little swap, you may notice other swaps in your life, like going for a 20-minute walk when you just can’t go to the gym that day. Time after time, these “little” swaps are going to stack up to massive wins… and ultimately change your life.

Now let’s get naked… JK but let’s dive into the WHY behind Naked Fries

So why did we build Naked Fries? Buckle up because this is a good one…

In 2022, Joey (Lauren’s partner in marriage and now business) and I (Lauren) embarked on a mental toughness challenge called 75 Hard. The rules were simple:

Pick a diet and stick to it
No alcohol consumption
Complete 2 workouts per day (at least 1 outside regardless of conditions) for 45 minutes each
Read 10 pages of a personal development book each day
Drink at least 1 gallon of water
Take progress pictures daily
And you guessed it - do the above for 75 days

For our diet, we did no seed oils and no processed foods. Well, at the time, it was next to impossible to find anything in the freezer aisle that met this criteria, and with busy schedules, we didn’t always have time to make full meals from scratch.

So, we started batch-making our own frozen french fries with just potatoes, avocado oil, and sea salt.

LIGHTBULB MOMENT!

EVERYONE NEEDS ACCESS TO THESE FRENCH FRIES

And that is the why behind Naked Fries - simply put, we need more better-for-you options in grocery stores.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t as easy as just having a What and a Why

Each week, I’ll use this little corner of the internet as a place to b*tch about building a frozen french fry brand. JK… sorta… We’ll dive into where we’re at, how we got here, and what it actually takes to build a CPG brand.
